Now when tapping on these "defective thumbnails" to display them, they open initially looking just as defective as the thumbnail does, namely with the top 10% visible and the bottom 90% black. So again this only seems to be an issue somehow relating to newly taken pictures by Samsung Camera app since Android 10 went in. If I copy a picture (from anywhere else) into a folder on the phone, its thumbnail is again rendered normally and 100% completely. For all older pictures the thumbnails are rendered normally and 100% completely, just as they've always been. The remaining 90% of the thumbnail is black. It's only for newly taken pictures.įor pictures taken in the past two days these thumbnails seem to "stop rendering" after getting only about 10% complete. And I can copy external photos to a folder and they also have their thumbnails rendered normally. The problem does NOT occur for older pictures taken before Android 10.0 went in. Since installing the Android 10 update two days ago on my Samsung S10 (Verizon is the carrier), there has been a very strange malfunction of Quickpic (5.0.0) when presenting the scollable 3-column matrix of thumbnails (about 3x5 on the screen at one time) for pictures in a folder, but ONLY WITH QUICKPIC, AND ONLY FOR THOSE NEW PICTURES TAKEN IN THE PAST TWO DAYS SINCE ANDROID 10.0, taken by Samsung Camera (10.0.00.68). If anyone can assist or re-direct me to some other forum or sub-forum on the Internet which is more appropriate, I would appreciate it. It can transform your old documents or pictures into digital and I have to say the results are astonishing.I don't know where to post this question for help, so I'll start here. In Addition to all of these, you also get PhotoScan. The Google Lens which comes with Google Photos is a neat feature which helps to scan or quickly Google the product. It not only plays them but also tries to stabilize and modify those images. Recently, they started supporting Motion Photos from other camera applications like Samsung Motion Pictures. I have been posting them often on Instagram.Īpart from the usual things, we have tons of new features being added to Google Photos. I find these short videos and animations lively and is kind of a summary of my trips. It also makes animated collages for you based on daily activity. The categorization and Image search is just brilliant. It can automatically categorize your photos based on location, face, type, etc. But, the amount of utilities and features it offers is amazing. Google Photos is entirely different from QuickPic. It was quite surprising as I expected it to be a fairly simple feature. The only thing that bugged me is it cannot manage RAW images. Piktures is the ideal QuickPic replacement with free Google Drive and Dropbox Integration. It also has an inbuilt Bar Code scanner which can be accessed by clicking on the floating button at the bottom-right. The secret drive stays on the local device so it is fair to see it’s secure. It password protects and encrypts the secret drive so even third-party media cannot access it. For privacy, you can move your media to a secret drive inbuilt in the Gallery App. It lets you manage media on cloud services. You can also attach your Google Drive, One Drive or DropBox account with Piktures. At the start, I didn’t like the UI much but with further usage, it keeps growing on you. The app is quite fluid and you can swipe past menus with the gestures. The folders are stacked on the left side drawer which you can pull with a left swipe. You get a Parallax effect at the top with an Image preview. The UI is different from all the apps in this list. Impressively, Piktures can efficiently manage and organize your gallery. Piktures comes with the full-feature of gesture.
